Two charged with kidnapping granted bail
One of two men charged with kidnapping has been granted bail in the sum of $300,000 with surety in the Spanish Town RM Court on Friday.

He is Carlington Thompson of Highgate, St Mary. co-accused Adrian Morrison was remanded.

In applying for bail, defence attorney Courtney Maxwell told the court that his client was simply at the wrong place. He said Thompson went to visit the other accused when the police turned up and held both of them although he knew nothing.

He was taken with other man to an address where the victim was rescued.

"My client was also beaten by the police while in custody and forced to give a statement," Maxwell told the court.

Bail was granted on condition that he reports to the police and returns to court on January 27.

The allegation is that on October 16, police investigators, acting on information about the kidnapping, went to Morrison's home where both men were held.

The police said the men were reportedly taken to another section of St Catherine where they found the victim (a senior citizen).
