Clarendon man remanded on multiple charges
An unemployed Clarendon man who is facing multiple contraband-related charges was remanded until December 19 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Courton Thursday.

Chevon Burrell of Kemps Hill in the parish is charged with possession of, taking preparatory steps to export ganja and conspiracy to export ganja.

However, Burrell, is maintaining his innocence.

According to police reports, on November 24, the accused was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport after a search of his luggage revealed compressed vegetable matter resembling ganja weighing 4.2 pounds.

Monies which the defendant had in his possession at the time of his arrest was also confiscated.

Some J$32,000 and US $3,000 was seized as it is believed that the cash was part proceeds given to the defendant to transport the drugs.
