Higgler gets bail extension

A higgler who is accused of dosing her boyfriend with an acidic substance had her bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

She is 40-year-old Icylin Elliott from a St Catherine address.

Elliott has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

She is to return to court on December 12, when the matter will be mentioned.

Allegations are that on August 4, about 9:45 p.m., the complainant, who works as a security gurad at a Kingston-based primary school, was on duty at the school, painting a section of the female bathroom, when the accused attacked him.

It is reported that the accused used an acidic substance to throw on the complainant's face causing discolouration, burning and damage to his left eye.

The incident was reported to the police and the complainant was admitted at the Kingston Public Hospital.

It is reported that the complainant was in a relationship with Elliott for the past six years and she has destroyed his clothes, chopped him, and threatened him on several occasions.
