An unemployed woman who allegedly bit her 13-year-old son three times after beating him, had her bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. She is 41-year-old Venice Hall from Nannyville, Kingston. Hall is to return to court on February 15 for trial. Allegations are that on November 19, the complainant was not given the permission of his mother to attended a football match, and upon his return, he was violently pulled into the house by his mother. It is reported that she grabbed a belt and started to hit the complainant all over his body. It is alleged that in a bid to escape, the complainant cried out for help and the accused threw down the belt and bit the complainant on his arms about three times. The police were not called to deal with the matter until November 21 when the complainant went to school and was observed by his guidance counsellor. It is reported that the guidance counsellor observed swellings, bruises, bite marks and a left eye that had bloodshot. The complainant was removed from the mother's home and taken to live with his father. Hall reportedly turned herself into the police on November 22. |
