A 14-year-old male student of the Anchovy High School in St James is now in police custody in relation to the stabbing of a teacher at the school on Monday. Information reaching THE STAR is that the male teacher had to be hospitalised following the incident. Reports are that about 3:30 p.m., a number of students were inside the school cafeteria when the teacher, who was assigned to monitor the area, asked a few unruly students to form a proper line. THE STAR understands that during an altercation, a pair of scissors was pulled and used to stab the teacher several times to the neck, back and side.
When contacted, school officials were locked inside a meeting.
However, THE STAR was informed that a decision was made by the school's administration not to conduct regular classes yesterday.
The police are investigating. |
