EX-COP HELD IN GANJA BUST |

One person is in police custody following Monday night's seizure of a large quantity of ganja, $176,000 , two guns and 33 rounds of ammunition in Manchester. Information reaching THE STAR is that the person who is in custody is an ex-cop. THE STAR understands that the seizure took place during a police check of a motor car on the Melrose Hill bypass. It is reported that initially, 12 knitted bags containing compressed marijuana were found. The marijuana is yet to be weighed and valued. Meanwhile, a Beretta pistol along with two magazines and 30 9mm rounds were taken from the person in the car. THE STAR understands that after the vehicle was towed to a police facility, another search was conducted. A .38 Taurus revolver was reportedly then found under the passenger seat with three .38 rounds. The operation was carried out by police personnel from the Manchester Division and the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division. |
