Patrons in for a treat at Rum Punch

Sadeke Brooks, Staff Reporter

JB Rum Punch promoters will be treating their patrons this year.

For the party that will be held on Sunday at Liguanea Club, New Kingston, Desmond 'Hard Earz' Steele from Expose Entertainment teamed up with clothing store Di Trends to host the party.

With this staging being 'Santa's Birthday Party', Steele said patrons will be receiving gifts.

"This year, it's Santa's Birthday Party, so it's the red-and-white edition. Because it's Santa's birthday, we are going for snow," he said.

One of the gifts, Steele said, is a reduction in cost to enter the party.

Presold tickets for women will cost $1,200, men will pay $1,500. However the tickets will cost $2,000 at the gate. There is also another special, 'Santa's Christmas Gift Threesome' , whereby two women and a man can enter the event for $3,000.

In addition, he said patrons will be getting 20 exciting drink mixes from its sponsor, Lascelles Wines & Spirits. Some of these are 'Sweet and Sour Charley', 'Hard Wood', 'Stick It Lick It', 'Slippery When Wet', 'Skyy Is The Limit' and 'Slide It Een'. But for those who overindulge, he said there will also be a Lucozade-Andrews detox bar.

Santa's birthday

"It's Santa's birthday so we have to suit the needs of the people. It couldn't be Santa's birthday and you don't have things giving away," he said, noting that there will be another surprise for female patrons .

At the event that will be held between 2 p.m. and midnight, there will be top selectors such as Renaissance Disco, ZJ Wah Wa, ZJ Liquid, Coppershot Disco and Jamrock.

For the ninth year, Steele said, "my expectations are high. It's gonna be very huge. The red-and-white theme and snow are going to add a lot to it".

"Di Trends is one of the promoters and its a very popular store. The fusion of Di Trends with Expose will make the party even bigger. Rum Punch is a calendar event and people look forward to it. Rum Punch is the first big party for December, so we are starting the Christmas."
