Einstein charged for offensive weapon

Stein. - File

Dancehall recording artiste Einstein, who was found in possession of an offensive weapon, was yesterday ordered to pay a fine of $4,000 or serve 10 days in jail when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Einstein, whose real name is Jermaine Lee-King, was arrested on November 19.

Allegations are that about 5:50 p.m., the police were conducting patrols in the Liguanea area when the 28-year-old deejay was seen riding a red Honda Twister motorcycle.

He was stopped and during a search a ratchet knife was found in his left back pocket.

When cautioned he said, "A studio mi a go; yuh know say mi a waan entertainer."
