The body of man believed to be in his mid-60s was recovered by the police along the shoreline on Allan Avenue, Port Antonio, yesterday. The body, which was clad in blue underwear, reportedly washed up on the shoreline shortly after 12 noon, and attracted dozens of curious onlookers. The police have reported that the man, who is yet to be identified, was last seen alive by persons near the bus terminus adjacent to the Texaco Service Station on Saturday evening. According to the police, the man reportedly took off his clothes and headed into the sea at the rear of the sanitary convenience on Gideon Avenue. He reportedly kept on walking into the water, until he was no longer seen. The police said curious bystanders alerted the police after the man failed to emerge after several minutes had passed. The Marine police searched the area on Saturday evening but came up empty handed. Yesterday, a man who was walking in the area stumbled on the body and made an alarm. The body was removed by a team from the Mizpah Funeral Home. |
