Search on for missing Glenhope girls after fire

Several girls from the Glenhope Place of Safety in Maxfield Park, Kingston, are reportedly on the run following a fire at the facility yesterday evening.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that the fire gutted about three dorms at the facility, however, about three fire units managed to put out the blaze.

The incident occurred sometime after 5 p.m.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that no one was injured in the blaze, however, about three infants at the childcare facility were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

It is reported that about six of the girls initially had escaped, however, security officials managed to catch two of them.

A search is now on for the missing girls.

Investigations are under way.
