Digicel will be taking the spirit of Christmas across Jamaica with a series of Christmas treats throughout November and December.

This follows the staging of its grand Christmas concert and the launch of the 'Christmas Rappa Pam-Pam' campaign, which will see customers winning over $20 million in cash and prizes.

The first treat, which took place in Portmore, St Catherine, at the Edgewater roundabout last Saturday, saw over 600 residents of Edgewater and surrounding communities coming out to share in the festivities. Residents were treated to a day of family fun and entertainment which culminated with a mini-concert featuring performances from the Top 3 Digicel 2011 Rising Stars finalists and reggae artiste Konshens.

Shelly-Ann Curran, senior sponsorships and activations manager at Digicel, explained that the underlying concept of the company's Christmas campaign is to spread the joy of Christmas to Jamaicans while they 'move to the beat' with Digicel.

"Our campaign for this Christmas speaks to a truly unique Jamaican Christmas; therefore as a spin-off to our Christmas concert, we will be having a series of Christmas treats islandwide to share in the spirit of Christmas with our customers. Each treat will allow us to further connect with our customers while sharing in the joys of season," Curran said.

Curran also explained that for each stop made by the company, children in the surrounding communities will also be treated to gifts from the 'Digi-Santa'. "Each treat will have a Kiddies Play World as well as a Santa Village where children can take photos with Santa after receiving their gifts and also family Christmas photos can be taken and printed to preserve the moment."

The telecommunications company will also be rewarding its online family on Facebook and Twitter with a number of giveaways over the Christmas holidays through several competitions daily. The second stop in the series of treats will be made in Portland tomorrow before moving over to Westmoreland, Clarendon, St James and St Mary.
