Rumours are circulating that the reputed Clansman gangster, Navardo Hodges, who is being intensely sought by the police, is the mastermind behind the murder of his girlfriend because she was involved with another man.

Tiffany Thomas, who also had children for Hodges and 44-year-old taxi operator Wesley Roper were shot dead on November 6 in St Catherine.

Reports are that Thomas was killed while she was travelling in Roper's cab. It was reported that residents heard explosions about 10 p.m. and called the police. The bodies were later discovered in the cab.

Since the killings, information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that Thomas was brutally gunned down after Hodges got information that she was involved with another man.

A high-ranking police source yesterday confirmed that the Clansman member is being investigated in relation to the killings. He also said that they had heard of the claims that she was killed because she was involved with another man.

The source, however, said that their investigations so far have not yet confirmed this claim.

Last week, the police reissued a reward of $500,000 for information leading to the arrest and charge of Hodges, who is said to be the leading member of the Spanish Town-based gang.

Hodges has reportedly eluded the police for more than a year.

He is wanted for questioning in relation to several other murders in the St Catherine North Division especially Spanish Town.

Investigators from the division say Hodges is always well armed and therefore should be approached with great caution.
