Big Wayne thankful for success, fame

Dancehall's newest sensation, Big Wayne, is thankful for his success and newly found fame. Since his voice was featured on the Twin of Twins CD 'Stir It Up Volume 9', the Bounty Killer entourage member has stepped on to the entertainment platform as an independent figure.

The entertainer, who earns most of his money from radio ads, disclosed that he recently recorded a jingle for local retail company Azans.

"A me, Supa Hype and Chi Ching Ching a duh most of the ads dem now, and wi just a hope fi di best. Corporate Jamaica a look pon wi now. Mi just record a jingle fi Azans for the Christmas (so) people can look out for that. Mi have to big up Supa Hype to ... I was also a judge on Sting Face-Off. So things a happen, corporate is on-board," he said.

Big Wayne also shared his experience as a member of Bounty Killer's entourage. This experience includes internal conflicts and altercations with other entourage members.

"I have been in Bounty Killer's entourage for over a decade and di Twins dem tell a part of my life I got stabbed as a member of the entourage by some of my own friends because they felt I was getting too close to the General and dem feel a way ... . Me and dem have an altercation and one a dem give the other a knife and a suh mi get injured," he said.

Big Wayne said despite his current progress in the entertainment industry, he still remains a part of Bounty Killer's c.

"Right now, mi still close to Killer. Mi naah guh nuh wey. Alliance mi seh, nothing naah guh change that," he said.

According to Big Wayne, Bounty Killer is supportive of his development and he is happy to see him finally doing something with his life.

He also disclosed that music is not a new field for him, and that he was an artiste over 20 years ago.

"I use to do music from a very tender age, I even entered Tastee talent competition, but I never got no support, suh mi just cool offa di music thing for many years, not even memba how long," he said.

Big Wayne revealed that his exposure on the Twins of Twins CD gave him a chance to rediscover his musical skills which has led to him releasing several singles and collaborations.

The most successful collaboration being Party Hard with Munga Honourable, for which a video will be released in coming weeks. The song recently peaked at number 5 on ER Top ten Countdown.

Big Wayne also has a song on Magnum Crank It Up rhythm produced by Supa Hype, and another called Careless Mouth featuring KipRich.
