STUDENTS ARRESTED AFTER TOWN FIGHT |

Station bail has been granted to a group of students who created mayhem in Old Harbour, St Catherine, yesterday. The Old Harbour police took the five students in custody for disorderly conduct. Four of the students are from one St Catherine high school while the other is from a high school in Clarendon. "The one from ... come and see her sister in a fight and started to part it. One a di girl hit her and she fling off har bag and start," an eyewitness said. It was revealed that the incident occurred along South Street, near the police station. "All when the police hold the girl she still a bite the other on the finger. It bad, dem no respect dem uniform," a woman told THE STAR. The problem started about 1 p.m., when the girls who hail from rival Old Harbour communities clashed. It is understood that one of the girls recently ran away from home. Although she has since returned, she has been on the receiving end of some severe teasing. It was during the teasing that the fight reportedly started. |
