A house mother accused of damaging textbooks and other educational property of the Church Of God Girls' Home valued at $75,000, had her bail extended until January 9 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday. Rose Smith of a Newport, Manchester address is charged with malicious destruction of property and is expected to seek the services of an attorney before her next court appearance. The crown is alleging that, sometime in August, Smith destroyed some textbooks and material for educational purposes by burning them, after she was told that her position as house mother was terminated. |
