A United States national who fled to Jamaican a day before he was to be sentenced for first-degree sexual abuse has been captured and extradited.

He is Anthony Singh from Erie County, New York.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that in 2009, Singh pleaded guilty to the offence and fled the island to avoid a possible two to seven year state prison term.

Singh, who has been on the run for nearly two years, will be arraigned on Thursday.
