Upcoming female DJ Rae Tay, (real name Heather Smith), has received another boost to her promising career after being confirmed for reggae/dancehall music's biggest one night show, Sting 2011.

Sting 2011 will be Rae Tay's biggest performance locally and comes after several years in the business, highlighted by a 2008 tour of the United States with reggae great Beres Hammond.

Rae Tay has been enjoying a rise in popularity this year with several of her singles getting airplay, including Ring My Bell, Revenge, Watch Me and Last Day on Earth.

"I feel good, I'm overwhelmed," Smith told The WEEKEND STAR on Monday. "I'm more than ready, I'm anticipating it like - wow! Now I can close the year on a good note."

She added: "Fans can look forward to something different, they can look forward to real entertainment, it won't be just about me performing, it will be an experience. This will be my introduction to the people, come next year, bigger things when we start push it."

Rae Tay is currently in the studios working on an album for producer Baby G's Yard Vybz Entertainment productions. The yet-to-be-named album is scheduled for release next summer.

The first single, a collaboration with Kip Rich entitled Can't Stay Away, is due for release late December or early January next year.

"We have done around eight tracks so far," Baby G confirmed. "There will be 13 tracks on the album, rhythms will be like one drop, Nyahbingi, R&B, dancehall - a mix of genres, clean music that will appeal to a wide cross section."

The album is also expected to feature collaborations with other local and overseas acts.
