P'more residents plagued by robberies |

Residents of Christian Gardens, Portmore, St Catherine, are being plagued by robberies The POrtmore Star has learnt. It was revealed that the culprits are armed and brazen in their approach and from as early as 7:00 p.m. start their criminal acts. "Dem nuh have nutten bout dem. From dem si yuh wid something and dem want it, simple, dem just tek," a resident who was robbed of a cellphone said. The Portmore Star also learnt that persons with laptops have suffered tremendously at the hands of the robbers. It revealed that the robbers operate on foot and whenever they are ready, walk through the community robbing the residents. "We need help as not even the children are safe inside here. A relative was using her computer the other day and the gunman just walk up, pull him gun, and take it," a resident said. Meanwhile, the police said they were aware of the problem and would step up their efforts to address the problem. "The police will be going all out to deal with the problem as the residents must be protected," Superintendent Clive Blair said. - R.T
