![]() ![]() George Henry - Angella Isaacs-Brown GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer The Faith Temple Portmore New Testament Church of God in St Catherine is blessed to have Angella Isaacs-Brown, not only as a member of its congregation but also as a Sunday school teacher. Her walk with God started in 2001 when she prayed and asked her Maker to save her. "I have been praying and asking God to save me. I used to attend a church but the same way I went in I came out back - dry. I asked God to show me, if He is really listening me, to show me the church that I am supposed to go," said the Sunday school teacher. She remembered going to bed one night and receiving a vision. The clothes she should wear and the church she should attend were shown to the church worker during the vision. She pointed out that she borrowed her husband's car. "But he said 'we generally go to church'. And I said to him, 'no, it is different', and while I was praying I asked God to show me because I did not have a clue where I was going," testified Isaacs-Brown. She said when she got to a part of her unknown journey, a voice said to her that she should turn the car; and she ended up at the Faith Temple New Testament Church of God, where she has been a member since she surrendered to the Lord. Isaacs-Brown said that since she started her walk her spiritual life could not have been better. She added that if she had known that walking with God was as sweet as she has found it to be, she would have started a long time ago. "It's powerful serving God. There are no words that I can use to explain it. It is like you attract a child with a lollipop; and every time that child sees you he runs to you because he wants the lollipop. Well, that is what Christ has been doing for me," said Isaacs-Brown, who was also president for Family Training Hour at the St Catherine congregation. She said the more she hears about Christ the more she wants to know and serve Him. She added that the only regret she has is not starting to serve God while she was in her teenage years. The Sunday school teacher, who teaches children between the age of 13 and 17, said she is encouraged to continue to serve in her current capacity. This, she said, is due to the encouragement she receives from her pastor, the Reverend Dr W.A. Blair, former Administrative Bishop for the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica and the Cayman Island. "I am encouraged through my pastor and the age group that I teach. My pastor is a man of faith who has a passion for young people. For me, teaching the young and inquisitive mind is encouraging." But Isaacs-Brown said she has to be well prepared in the word of God, because the students who attend Sunday school classes always seek to challenge those who teach them. However, she noted that despite the work being challenging she was motivated to continue. Feedback:
