Detectives launch manhunt in Vybz Kartel murder case

Detectives investigating Adidja Palmer, more popularly known as 'Vybz Kartel', are to charge several other persons in connection with the murder of Clive Williams, otherwise called 'Lizard'.

THE STAR understands that the police have launched a manhunt for several suspects.

On October 24, Kartel and Kiro Jones, otherwise called 'Ray Jones', were charged for the murder of Williams.

According to the head of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell, "other persons are to be charged in relation to the murder."

It is reported that on August 16, Williams, a resident of Portmore, St Catherine, was killed in Havendale, St Andrew.

THE STAR understands that Williams was taken to a house in Havendale, where he was beaten and stabbed to death, over the loss of an illegal gun.

His body has not been found.

Investigators are alleging that attempts were made to destroy the evidence when fire was set to the house.

Meanwhile, Portmore Empire deejay Shawn Storm yesterday faced an identification parade, in relation to the murder.

Storm, whose real name is Shawn Campbell, has been in custody since last week Monday.

It was reported that the artiste had surrendered to the police after being named as a person of interest in the case.

On Friday, the deejay's attorney, Micheal Deans, filed a habeas corpus application in court.

The attorney is expected to move ahead with submissions on the application today.

Kartel is to return to court on November 2, when his attorneys are to make a bail application for him.
