Right Marker to make all

The Noel Ennevor-trained RIGHT MARKER. - file

NOEL ENNEVOR's RIGHT MARKER is simply too light to lose tomorrow's 1300-metre seventh event, carrying 48.5 kilos with Georgina Sergeon set to make all aboard the three-year-old filly.

RIGHT MARKER finished third in a driving finish, a half length by three-quarter length, behind SWEET TRAIL and DON GEORGE at 1200 metres on October 8.

Partnered by Paul Francis that afternoon, the April 30 Jamaica Oaks runner-up carried 52.0 kilos and was run out of it by repeat winner SWEET TRAIL before being relegated to third close to home by DON GEORGE.

With Sergeon aboard, she'll be using her trademark front-running tactics to steal a march in a line-up void of any real speed.

United States-bred RIVERS OF BABYLON made all to win at 1200 metres on October 5 but beat a cheap field of maidens and has a lot more to do up in class. In addition, she's 12lb heavier than RIGHT MARKER.

The additional half furlong should be even more to RIGHT MARKER's liking. Her best efforts, including a heartbreaking loss by a neck to CARIDAD in the Jamaica Oaks, were all in excess of 1300 metres.

The colt SIR SOUTH, who turned for home next-to-last behind SWEET TRAIL and RIGHT MARKER and made rapid headway to be a length fifth a furlong out, returns at 52.0 kilos and must be a dangerous contender.

He was only a half length behind RIGHT MARKER and will also relish the additional distance. Champion jockey Omar Walker is aboard SIR SOUTH, riding a kilo overweight for trainer Gordon Lewis who believes apprentice Chalrick Budhai was a bit unlucky on October 5.

Walker will definitely make a world of difference aboard SIR SOUTH. He won aboard the colt in a driving finish on August 17, defeating COLD GROUND at 1200 metres with both level at 56.0 kilos.

RED FLAG, who had beaten SIR SOUTH by seven lengths a month earlier, appears to be somewhat of a specialist at 1300 metres, recording his two career wins at the distance.

Not the fastest of horses for the first two or three furlongs, RED FLAG is, however, a good stalker and has a sweeping move which is hard to withstand when he gets going.

However, RED FLAG was no match for RIGHT MARKER on May 28 when the filly beat him by almost nine lengths at 1700 metres.

Sergeon need only use RIGHT MARKER's speed and pace to good effect to have her heavier rivals off their bridles down the backstretch while she coasts into the lane. When she asks the filly to run with 48.5 kilos, she should be sprinting away from the field.
