A watchman who was held in connection with the seizure of an A2 M16 rifle in Shooters Hill, St Andrew, is to face the Corporate Area Gun Court on November 15.

It was reported that 44-year-old Basil Clarke was charged with illegal possession of firearm on October 18.

Detectives at the Elletson Road Criminal Investigation Branch reported that about 1:45 p.m., a team of officers conducted an operation in the area, during which premises were searched and the weapon found.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that Clarke was arrested and subsequently charged following investigations by the police.
