Lawyers representing Portmore Empire artiste Shawn Storm, who is still in custody, will be seeking his release today.
Defence attorney Michael Deans told THE WEEKEND STAR that he will be filing a writ before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court demanding that the artiste be charged or released. The upcoming dancehall deejay, whose real name is Shawn Campbell, was named as a person of interest in connection with the murder of Clive Williams, alias 'Lizard', who was killed on August 16 in Havendale, St Andrew. This is the second time this month that Storm has been taken into custody, as on October 10 he surrendered to the police after being named a person of interest. On Monday, Vybz Kartel, who is the head of the Portmore Empire which Storm is a part of, was slapped with a second murder charge. Kartel has been charged with the murder of Williams. Allegations are that in August, Williams was taken to a house in Havendale, where he was beaten and stabbed to death over the loss of an illegal gun. Kartel, who is in custody, is to return to court on October 31. |
