Darling Reggae vocalist Sophia Brown celebrated her birthday in style last Thursday evening with family, friends and fellow industry mates at an exclusive invitation-only party inside Club Impulse in New Kingston. Brown, who made a smashing appearance minutes after 10 p.m., was greeted by guests and media photographers who shared laughter as they expressed kind sentiments about a woman who has shown sheer determination since she got her break in 2007 with the chart-topping single Love You Pure. Among the long list of celebrities in attendance were Lady G, who Brown has been friends with for years, Luciano, Hezron, Stacious, Anthony Que, Tiana, ZJ Elektra, DJ Neil from the Cash Flow Family, reggae singer Duane Stephenson, CVM TV producer Saudicka Diaram, radio jocks Dalton Leith and Kenneth Reid and DJ Raff, to name a few. A mother of two, Brown was all smiles as reggae singer Hezron serenaded her with some sassy vocals before assisting in the cutting of the cake. Currently heating up radio airwaves across the globe with a reggae cover of Betty Wright's 1978 classic Tonight Is The Night, Sophia Brown is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album entitled Catch Me If You Can.
