16-y-o daughter kidnapped in carjacking
The police are now searching for a group of men who on Tuesday night hijacked a car being driven by a woman and kidnapped her 16-year-old daughter.

Reports are that about 7 p.m., the woman and her daughter were driving home along the Sherbourne Heights main road in Stony Hill, St Andrew, when men in a Black Honda motorcar blocked their path.

Further reports are that the men dragged the teenager from the vehicle and drove off with her.

It is understood sometime later, the men, who also stole the woman's handbag called and demanded a ransom of $3 million.

The police were alerted and a massive dragnet was set up in the Corporate Area.

THE STAR understands that around midnight the teen was rescued after she was thrown from the vehicle.

THE STAR further understands that the Black Honda motorcar that was being driven by the suspects was later found abandoned.
