August Town under curfew

A curfew has been imposed on the community of Bedward Gardens in August Town, St Andrew.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the curfew, which started at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, will remain in effect until 6 p.m. today.

The boundaries of the curfews run north along Golding Avenue from Premix Road to the entrance of Bedward Gardens; east along the Bedward Gardens main road from Dread Heights to Berry Road; south along Barrett Drive from June Road across the Hope River to Berry Road to Bedward Gardens; and west along Premix Road from Golding Avenue to Hope River.

In the meantime, the public is being advised that during the hours of the curfew all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by a member of the security forces who is in charge of enforcing the curfews.
