New evidence suggests that ... CHILD WASN'T KILLED BY GOAL POST

Crystal Harrison, Star Writer

Detectives in the St Ann Police Division may soon have to probe shocking allegations indicating that six-year-old Javane Bailey from the Chester Primary School in the parish was murdered.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the grade-one student died after a goalpost on the school's playground fell on him.

The incident reportedly occurred on October 11, sometime before 1 p.m.

The child was rushed to the St Ann's Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

However, THE STAR has been reliably informed by a source close to the case that new evidence has revealed that little Bailey was either severely punched or kicked in the chest and not hit in the head as was initially reported.

According to the source, the marks on Bailey's chest seem to have been caused by an extremely forceful punch or kick, not by a goalpost.

When THE STAR made contact with Senior Superintendent of Police and Divisional Commander for St Ann, Carlton Wilson, he was unable to comment on the matter as he was out of the parish and had not yet seen the results of a recently done post mortem.
