George Nooks top NY, South Florida charts |
|||||
George Nooks Singer George Nooks has done it again and it's with another gospel gem Broken Vessel. Recorded to a jazzy reggae beat, Nooks adds his own special touch to it - the result, it's a runaway hit! The single is now sitting pretty in the number one position on both the New York and South Florida charts. The song is also doing very well in London and other parts of the Caribbean. Commenting on the success of the gospel cover, Nooks says he really couldn't be any happier about the response the song has been receiving since it's release. "I had people coming up to me and telling me just how much this song has touched them. I guess that's the reason it has taken off so much," he said. Broken Vessel has also been getting heavy rotation on the local airwaves with disc jocks being requested to 'pull up and come again'. But this is not the first time Nooks has enjoyed a big success with a gospel song. He did it a few years back with the Al Green cover God Is Standing By. "It seems my grandmother knew something I didn't when she made me promise that I would record gospel songs," said Nooks about the overwhelming responses he has been getting on his gospel covers. |
