Man charged with stabbing granted bail

An unemployed man charged with felonious wounding was granted bail in the sum of $80,000 when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Ricardo Gooden, 20, from Duff Street, Kingston 13, is to return to court on November 14 for mention.

Allegations are that on Sunday, October 9, about 10 a.m., the complainant and the accused had a dispute during which a knife was used to stab the complainant in the back.

The complainant told the court that he was awoken by a loud noise outside his home, and when he went to check what was happening, he saw the accused man with a stone trying to enter his yard.

He claimed that at that point he pushed the accused and a tussle developed.

He further claimed that, when he tried to pull away, he saw blood spraying from his back.

The complainant ran and boarded a taxi that took him to the Kingston Public Hospital.

Gooden was later arrested.
