St James truck driver freed |

The St James truck driver who was jointly charged with the murder of a policeman's wife has been freed by the Home Circuit Court. He is 26-year-old Greg Cameron of Mount Salem, St James, who was freed yesterday after the crown offered no evidence against him. However, THE WEEKEND STAR understands that Cameron's co-accused, constable Raymond Campbell, remains on trial for the murder. The Crown is relying on the confession which Campbell allegedly gave to a prisoner while they were sharing a cell. Allegations are that the policeman murdered his wife to prevent her from testifying against him in a shooting with intent case. In 2009, Campbell was freed of the shooting with intent charge. It is reported that Campbell's wife went missing in August 2008 and the body has not been found. Meanwhile, Campbell is being represented by attorney-at-law Melrose Reid. |
