Western Bureau: Veteran reggae musician Freddie McGregor gave patrons in Montego Bay a classy treat of musical splendour as the headliner performed at Expo 2011 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall. McGregor continues to bridge the gap between the young and old through his music and he proved just that on Saturday at the Expo 2011 grand concert as he sang from his huge catalogue that left patrons yearning for more. The small, yet intimate audience did not faze the reggae icon who performed as he was billed for a sold out concert. With songs like Push Come to Shove and Just Don't Wanna Be Lonely, McGregor has become accustomed to singalongs and the patrons were no different in Montego Bay as they sang every song he performed word for word, in most instances he had them dancing to his every note. Internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer Freddie McGregor has treated his fans with conscious lyrics for over 40 years. Equally at home in lovers rock, roots and culture, this unstoppable wonder boasts many hits like Africa Here I Come, I Was Born A Winner and his signature Big Ship to name few. Tammy T was simply the best as the upcoming artiste gave a superb rendition of Tina Turner's Simply The Best that registered well with the crowd. The quartet Soul 4 Soul was excellent as they offered an appetizing performance that the audience appreciated as their powerful vocals caressed the hearts of all who attended. According to the president of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davon Crump, the concert was a value-added treat for patrons who wanted to unwind after viewing the booths from our exhibitors. "It was our pleasure to have Freddie McGregor along with Soul 4 Soul and Tammy T as part of entertainment package. It was thrilling for the patrons and as the organisers of Expo 2011 we wanted to ensure that exhibitors, sponsors and patrons all enjoyed what we had to offer and the
grand concert was the icing on the cake," an enthused Crump stated.
