The Lawless events team is basking in yet another successful staging of their now flagship event Marco Polo. The event explored a new venue and the preparations, crowd and vibe was close to perfection.

Marco Polo is an early event, and usually starts as early as 2 p.m., and so when THE STAR team arrived at 6 p.m., some patrons had already digested four hours of partying and were busy gobbling up the remaining hours.

ZJ Chrome was on the wheels of steel and he engaged the audience by playing a series of wining songs such as Mavado's High Unda, Vybz Kartel's Bike Back and Opal's I Said.

The patrons gyrated to the selections in a playful manner as each partner challenged each other on the three dance floors.

The song that brought the gyrating to an all-time high, was Lady Saw and Spragga Benz's classic Back Shot.

Persons could be seen mopping the floor with their bodies, climbing on top of each other and positioning themselves as instructed by the lyrics of the song as if enchanted.

Even the bartenders couldn't resist dancing, as staff in one of the bars could be seen gyrating on each other while serving beverages. But who could resist in a climate where dancing seemed inevitable.

Even dancehall artiste Jah Vinci couldn't resist the temptation, as he was seen enjoying the water that was being sprayed all over the VIP area.

'Daggering songs' have been banned from local radio, however, it was certainly not banned at Marco Polo, as the many 'daggering songs' that were played appeared to be the best remedy to keep the energetic momentum going.

The DJ yelled "Mek sure uno nuh stop dagga di gal dem," and went on to play Aidonia's Hundred Stab and RDX's Dagger Dagger.

At this point the energy was apparently too much for one of the inflated water slides and it began to lose air with the patrons still inside.

This caused some amount of laughter for onlookers, but in a matter of minutes the slide was up again and patrons back to their daggering ways.

Notable things about Marco Polo were that it was largely hassle free, the security was on point, and the stage management was functional.

Health care personnel were on spot, and they assisted patrons who were intoxicated.

THE STAR visited the Marco Polo heath centre and a patient who gave her name as Chevanel, told THE STAR that she was just recovering from a hangover and she was ready to party again.

Kemar Davis who was the nurse assigned to the area warned her "no more rum," and gave her some water before releasing her.

At 9 p.m., Popcaan made a guest appearance to screaming fans, and performed his hit single Only Man She Want. He was then led back to the VIP area by security after being flocked by a sea of female patrons.

DJ Jr and Urban Legends ended the party on a high note at 10 p.m., playing songs like Aidonia's Tek Wey Yuh Gal and Tanto Blacks' Anything Yuh Want.

Patrons left the event with nothing to complain about. According to one patron who gave her name as Claudia, the party was 'ridiculous'.

"That's all I can say, it was ridiculous, can't wait fi di next one," she said.
