New trial date for woman on disorderly rap

A Businesswoman accused of behaving in a disorderly manner at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston pleaded not guilty and is to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on December 6 for trial.

She is Cecile Bryan, 53, from a Kingston 5 address.

Reports are that on Wednesday, October 12 about 6:50 a.m., the accused entered the search area at the airport to check in on an outgoing Caribbean Airlines flight.

It is understood that she bypassed the regular line and went into the line for diplomats and passengers in wheelchairs.

When told that she could not use that line she allegedly told the officer that she was a wheelchair passenger and a gold club member.

When the officer asked the immigration personnel to make checks, it was found that the accused was not a gold club member.

She was subsequently asked to go into the regular line after which she started behaving in a boisterous manner.

When she did not comply with the officer's warning to calm down, she was arrested.

"Offica whey yuh a charge mi fah," she said while being cautioned by the police.

Her attorney told the court that she is a cancer survivor and that was the reason for her using that line.
