Woman killed in crash identified

The identity of the woman who died in the motor vehicle crash along Highway 2000 near the Vineyard toll plaza in St Catherine on Monday has been released.

She has been identified as 57-year-old Melrose McLeod James of a Kingston 20 address.

Meanwhile, the driver of the motor vehicle and three other passengers are being treated at the hospital.

It is reported that five persons were travelling in a Mitsubishi Montero Sport towards Spanish Town from May Pen, Clarendon.

On reaching a section of the road, it is reported that the driver lost control of the motor vehicle and it overturned, injuring all its occupants.

THE STAR understands that the police were alerted and the injured persons were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where James succumbed to her injuries and the others were admitted.
