Known to be a sound system with some of the most prolific DJs in the dancehall scene, Darkcide International has added another arm to their flagship entertainment entities.

Darkcide now operates their own record label called Darkcide International and has released their first rhythm compilation called the Menke which is a collaboration with Freeze Production.

The compilation features Black Rhyno, Chedda, Ding Dong, Tony Matterhorn among others.

According to the manager of Darkcide International, Raymond 'Shadow' Small, the rhythm is doing well in Europe and St Lucia.

"We are already getting calls from outside Jamaica so it's only a matter of time," he said.

The optimistic Small says that the timing is right to start a label because the team has always been diverse.

"It only makes logical sense, we are already in promotions with Guinness Hamma Fridaze, public relations with Prism Marketing and we have Darkcide DJs, so it was only a matter of time before we went into production," he said.

The label has so far signed one deejay, which is upcoming artiste Chedda. However, Shadow says that the label is working with more young artistes that haven't been signed as yet.

Small also hinted at working with young artistes who want to be a part of Darkcide International in the future.

"We will work with more young talents in due time, but I would advise them to submit material that is semi-professionally done so that we can recognise real talent, the possibilities are endless," he said.

Darkcide international is currently working on new singles, and a fresh rhythm compilation to be released just in time for the upcoming Christmas season.
