The man who locked police officers out of the Spanish Town Police Station for more than an hour on Monday was remanded when he appeared in court yesterday.

He is Patrick McKenzie, 32 years old of Tredegar Park, St Catherine.

He pleaded not guilty when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court.

He has been charged with malicious destruction of property, assault occasioning bodily harm and disorderly conduct.

The court was told that on Monday, October 10, about 6 p.m., McKenzie was held by the police and brought to the station.

He suddenly started to attack police personnel, smashed glass doors and threatened to harm police with a piece of broken glass.

McKenzie will return to court next Tuesday when the matter will again be mentioned.
