CABBIE ATTACKS 12-Y-0 FOR RICE ON SEAT |

A Christiana vendor is planning to sue a taxi driver after it is alleged that he attacked her 12-year-old daughter because she dropped a few grains of rice on the cab seat.
The woman is alleging that the taxi driver not only attacked her daughter, but also hit her with a lug tool on her neck.
According to the woman, Coral Corn, last Saturday she had purchased a lunch for her daughter and a younger son, and put them on a taxi heading for home at Pike, Manchester.
She told THE STAR that when her daughter and her little brother were having the lunch in the taxi, which plies the route from Christiana to Pike, the rice fell on the seat.
"The driver demanded my daughter to clean up the rice and she brushed it off on to the floor," said Corn.
She said the driver's response to what the child did was that she should clean up the floor of the vehicle. When she refused, the driver reportedly started reeling off expletives to the minor. The child reportedly left the car for another taxi, angering the driver.
It's alleged that the driver became angry and slapped the minor on her leg with a rag used to clean his car, then threw the dirty rag in the child's face. He also reportedly slapped the child in her face.
An elder sister of the minor was alerted about the incident and she then called Corn and both went to the rescue of the minor. When Corn arrived, it's reported that the driver was asked why he behaved in that manner to the minor; however, he refused to answer.
"I had an opened umbrella and while he was walking past me, his body pulled it and broke a part of it. He grabbed me in my chest and I retaliated by grabbing him back in his chest and a fight started," Corn alleged while pointing out that she then used her umbrella to attack the cabbie in return.
She further alleged that a lug tool was then used to hit her on the neck. She alleged: "He then chased my daughter with the lug tool as if he wanted to kill her, but he was restrained by two men."
The mother said a police officer who arrived on the scene allegedly pepper-sprayed her older daughter before ordering them to go to the nearby Christiana Police Station. It is understood that when they got to the station, Corn, her daughter and the taxi operator were charged for disorderly conduct.
The three were locked up for over three hours but were released late Saturday afternoon, and are to attend court on October 14. The market vendor told THE STAR that she intends to sue the driver for the physical assault of her and her two daughters.
