LIME decides 'Teacha's Pet' fate today

Telecommunications giant LIME was in discussion last night about the future of the recently launched Teacha's Pet featuring Vybz Kartel. This followed the announcement that the deejay was charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and possession of an illegal firearm.

LIME is the major sponsor of the dating reality series that centres around Kartel finding his mate. Teacha's Pet premiered two weeks ago and is being aired on CVM every Friday at 10 p.m.

Despite premiering two weeks ago, only one episode of the show was aired on television. Last Friday, following Kartel's arrest, episode two of the show was not aired on the station.

According to the show's official Facebook page, episode two was not aired due to technical difficulties and the episode was not given to the station on time.

When contacted by The STAR last night, however, officials of the company were very tight-lipped about the show's future. According to a representative of the company, a statement would be issued to the media today. Efforts to reach the producers of the show were also futile.

Sources close to the telecommunication giant, however, told THE STAR last night that there was a strong possibility that the sponsors could pull their association with the show.

Kartel is known for countless songs including Real Badman, Summertime and Dumpa Truck. He is also known for his business ventures including a recent skin care line, involvement in a night club and alcohol production.
