At age 27, DJ Egnite, real name Kimon Parker, believes that he has enough talent and zest to make it in the music industry.

He has been in the entertainment business for the last 10 years but was unable to 'buss' on to mainstream as he would like.

"I have been in the business since 2001, little after I left Calabar Primary and Junior High School. However, I don't 'buss' yet, but I think my time will soon come, just wait and see," a confident Egnite told THE STAR.

During Egnite's career he has done demo tracks such as Nowa Days, I'm Still In Love, Hot Up Mi Head, and Hard To Please. "My songs mainly play at street dance and stage shows but I'm planning to release one of my songs soon."

Egnite said that he will be performing on Galiday Bounce on December 31, 2011.

"I'm really looking forward to that show, it's an annual event for me and that crowd normally give me a lot of love". Egnite has also performed on the Alliance promoted Follow di Arrow show. His inspiration for dancehall music comes from DJ Maestro, Bounty Killer, and his mentor Hya-P, an artiste he also writes songs for. "Bounty Killer a de real DJ, he just gives the right vibes and sound, and Hya-P a bring him thing". Egnite believes his strength lies in his delivery of his lyrics and the energy he offers to his fans. Egnite dreams of becoming a household name in the next five years. "In the next five years I see myself as big as established artiste such as Bounty Killer, Mavado and Sean Paul. People will know my name because I plan to "ignite" in the business". He is thankful for the help of producers, Rough, Diego, Richie Rich, Lock, Flip Side and Stamped that have assisted in his development thus far.
