DANCEHALL Deejay David 'Mavado' Brooks had his bail extended until next year when he appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Mavado, who has been charged with assault and malicious destruction of property, is to return to court on February 6 and February 7 for trial.

The 30-year-old deejay was charged following an incident along the Belmont main road in St James back in July.

Allegations are that the artiste encouraged members of his entourage to attack a man and his son after the man refused to move his vehicle to allow the deejay to avoid potholes.

It is further alleged that the man was beaten all over his body with a machete and his son reportedly slapped in his face.
