Chris Martin's 'Cheater's Prayer' is not only creating a storm here in Jamaica, it is the number one song in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Hot 103.7 radio charts. The song was officially released in September, just weeks after Martin performed it at Reggae Sumfest where it was well received.

On top of that, his song Top a Top is currently number nine on the UK Reggae Charts. Martin was informed of the latter development from the song's producer yesterday. Needless to say he is over the moon. "Cheater's Prayer has only been out three weeks and the response has been crazy," Martin says. "It's already number-one in St Vincent and it's a must-have for disc jocks in their playlists."

Martin said they wanted to hold the song back because the producer ZJ Chrome wanted it to be on iTunes first to drive sales, but the "fever is spreading, we can't contain it. And for this last quarter of the year, we're only expecting it to get bigger and cross over into many territories." According to industry sources, the song is reportedly the most requested on the Cardiac Strings rhythm that also features songs by Jah Cure, Tarrus Riley, Ce'Cile, Alaine and Voice Mail.

Word is that a video treatment is being tailored for the song, with the intention to start shooting the video soon. With regards to the song Top a Top, Martin said he is glad his songs are being well received in the different markets overseas. "I am happy that my music is doing so well all over the world," he said, adding that fans should look out for some new songs coming soon in 2012, Betta Dem and This Girl is Dangerous.

Martin left the island on Monday along with Ce'Cile for performances in Guyana.
