ISCF member on rape rap granted bail

A member of the Island Special Constabulary Force charged with rape was granted bail when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He is Kevin Taylor, a 31-year-old special constable of Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Taylor was granted $350,000 bail and is to report to the Spanish Town Police Station three times weekly.

In applying for bail, attorney-at-law Everton Dewar told the court that his client will honour his obligations to the court.

It was revealed that Taylor is cooperating with investigators and upon hearing of the ruling, turned himself into the police.

The policeman is said to have committed the offence in May of this year.

A report was made to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse,which launched an investigation.

The director of public prosec-utions handed down her ruling on Monday.
