On Tuesday, the St Catherine police detained one of the three men who was in the group who they believe is the "prime suspect". The other men were questioned and released. "We are picking up that this was an accidental shooting. They were playing with a firearm and it went off," one investigator said. The main suspect will again be questioned by investigators, who are also trying to locate the firearm involved in the incident. Initially, it was reported that Holness, a student of the University of the West Indies, had dropped off a classmate in the area and was sitting in his car talking when a lone gunman riding a bicycle fired one shot into the vehicle. It was further reported that Holness who was shot in the chest was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead The incident reportedly occurred about 9:40 p.m on Windsor Road in St Catherine . |
