Upcoming artiste Deablo from the J.O.P camp was shot by a stray bullet last weekend while in a club in the United States (US).

News of the incident quickly surfaced on the Internet and circulated on various social networking sites. When contacted by The STAR, Corey Todd businessman and manager of Aidonia and J.O.P. confirmed that the young deejay was shot.

According to Todd, Deablo went to a party at an undisclosed night club in the US, and was leaving when an argument developed between two patrons. Todd said the artiste continued to make his way to his car when shots were fired, which resulted in him being hit by a stray bullet.

News of the incident quickly surfaced on the dancehall arena, with rumours circulating that the bullet was close to Deablo's spine, which could potentially cause paralysis.

However, Corey Todd said the bullet was not close to his spine and he would recover. "Deablo will be ok. The shot connected in his back. But it was not close to his spine so he will be ok, and back in Jamaica in a week or so," he said.

According to Todd, the situation was just a hurdle that the camp would get over. He added the situation would be used as motivation to do more positive music condemning violence.

"This will be a motivation to him because his life could have been innocently taken away. We are just going to turn the negative into a positive. I have spoken to him and he is in good spirits," he said.

Todd says that Aidonia, a mentor to the deejay and founder of J.O.P, was upset about the situation, but outlined that the camp had a lot to give thanks for, because the young artiste was still alive and recuperating.

The young artiste is known for songs such as Look What Dem Start with J.O.P stablemate Navino, Guh Fi Bwoy, Real Bad People, among others.
