JAMAICAN WINS $232 Million - Hits it big in Super Lotto

One lucky Jamaican is now a super millionaire after hitting the right numbers and winning the Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) $387million Super LOTTO Jackpot yesterday.

The draw which has left the Jamaican super happy took place yesterday.

In a release sent out last night Supreme Ventures announced that the $387M Super Lotto Jackpot for game draw #214 was won by one lucky person who purchased a ticket in Jamaica.

The winner, who is yet to be publicly identified, found the right combination of the five Super Lotto numbers plus one Super Ball number to win the jackpot. The winner is said to be the first in the Caribbean.

The winning numbers were: 5, 11, 20, 22, 31 and Super Ball 8.

The winning ticket was purchased for $150 by the soon to be announced millionaire. However, as a result of the split price purchase, where a lower price option on tickets was provided, this winner will collect $232.2M.

The lucky winner will be required to claim his/her prize in Jamaica at the Supreme Ventures Corporate Office. The release also stated that information on the winner will be provided as soon as the prize is claimed.

The live draw was held in the Dominican Republic and a rebroadcast shown later in Jamaica.

SVL started selling tickets on August 25, 2009 for the Super Lotto multi-jurisdictional game, which is the first game of its kind in the Caribbean and Latin America.

The participating territories are: the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Barbados, St Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, St Maarten and the US Virgin Islands.

THE STAR was unable to receive further comments from SVL up to press time last night as calls to Sonia Davidson, the vice-president of Group Corporate Communications went unanswered.
