Man jailed after arms seizure |

|
The police have taken a man into custody in relation to the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition at the Twickenham Park Housing Scheme, Central Village, St Catherine on Sunday. The man has been identified as 30-year-old Junior Jones, a welder of McNeil Boulevard, St Catherine. According to reports from the Central Village police, about 3:30 a.m., a team of police officers was on patrol in the area when they accosted and searched a man. A Taurus .38 revolver, serial number erased, with six rounds was taken from him. Jones is to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court to answer charges for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition on Tuesday, October 4. |
