Marcus Garvey Tech students in accident |

Several students of the Marcus Garvey Technical High school in St Ann were injured in a motor vehicle crash yesterday morning. It is reported that about 27 students were injured and taken to the nearby St Ann's Bay hospital for treatment. THE STAR understands that the injuries were not considered serious as several of the students have been treated and released. Information reaching THE STAR is that the students reportedly sustained cuts and bruises after the Hiace bus they were travelling in collided with a Probox motor car about 6:45 a.m. The students were reportedly travelling from Ocho Rios towards St Ann's Bay when the accident occurred. According to the St Ann's Bay police, the crash occurred at the intersection of Bravo Street and the AGR Byfield Highway. The driver of the motor car was also injured in the incident. However, his injuries are not considered life threatening. |
