Badly burnt newborn baby found

A badly burnt newborn baby was found on a premises in Nine Miles, St Ann, and a woman has been taken into custody following the discovery on Wednesday.

The woman, who is suspected to have given birth to the child, was picked up during a police operation in the community.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that the woman, who is from Mountain View Avenue in St Andrew, went to St Ann after being hired to work in a bar.

It was reported that about 1:30 p.m, an occupant of a house in Nine Miles found the infant's body at the rear of the premises.
