A star-studded field of six was yesterday declared for the inaugural running of the Rum Fire Invitational Trophy grade one race over 1500 metres at Caymanas Park on Saturday with a purse of $2 million.

The draw at the overnight stage was conducted live on radio on the front lawn at Caymanas Park yesterday afternoon by acting racing secretary Kingsley Gentles and Percy Hussey, representing the sponsors, Trelawny-based Everglades Farms Limited, which is owned by the Hussey racing family.

Heading the small but high class field is top-rated American filly RONRON with 57.0kg and champion jockey Omar Walker riding for trainer Gary Subratie and coming from post position number three.

The Morris Powell-trained Canadian mare PRICELESS BEAUTY (50.5kg), recent winner of the Seek Back-to-School Trophy, is drawn at post position number one with former champion Wesley Henry, followed by the Subratie-trained American filly DANCE SO SWEET (53.5kg) under US-based Jamaican-born jockey Andrew Ramgeet at post position No.2; the reigning 'Horse of the Year' MARK MY WORD with joint leading rider Dick Cardenas riding for trainer Richard Azan at No. 4, the brilliant unbeaten three-year-old gelding COMMANDING CHIEF (52.0kg) coming from post position five with Paul 'Country' Francis again riding for trainer Everal Francis, and the recent dual winner SIR VON (51.5kg) with joint leading rider Shane Ellis riding for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta at No. 6.

Despite running against grade one horses for the first time, COMMANDING CHIEF could start favourite on the strength of his fast-time victory over the distance (1:31.2) in open allowance company on September 7. The son of War Marshall - She Knows Beau is unbeaten in five starts.
