Star Tell Me Pastor

Her unpleasant side

Dear Pastor,

I have a problem. I am 30 years old and my girlfriend is 34. Both of us were employed, but the company I worked for laid me off. My girlfriend suggested that I move in with her. I was paying rent, but she owns a one-bedroom apartment. I moved in and since I am here, I am seeing a different side of her that I didn't see before.

I try to do my best. I even clean and wash every piece of her clothes. She wants to talk to me as if I am a boy. She tries to boss me around and every little thing upsets her. We cannot hold an intelligent conversation. She gets into an argument.

Pastor, I know that she is under pressure because I am not bringing in any money, but I used to help her when I was working. And I lent her $300,000 to help her buy a car. We are sleeping head and tail and she does not want me to touch her.

I broke up with a young woman who used to be my girlfriend. She is now living in Atlanta, USA and she still loves me. She wants to come to Jamaica for us to get married. I don't know what to do so I would like your advice, please.

O.S.,

Dear O.S.,

I wish it were possible to hear your girlfriend's side of the story. However, looking at what you have said, I would suggest that you leave this young woman's house right now, without delay. This is not the woman with whom you should consider making a family. She is kicking you when you need her help.

This woman knows your needs and the problems you face, and instead of working with you, she is showing her dirty side. One reason for doing so is probably because you are living at her house and you are not making any financial contribution. Some women feel that they can say anything to men and do anything that is hurtful when the men are living at their home. They always remind the men when they have disagreements that the house belongs to them.

So, leave this woman's house even if you have to sleep under a tree.

Concerning your old time girlfriend, it may not be a bad move if you should consider renewing the friendship with her after you are out of the fire in which you have found yourself.
